Consider the term “global warming.” What do you know about this term? What images come to mind when you think of this phrase? How do you think most people understand the term “global warming” today?
Teaching Suggestion: This question directly links with the Post-Reading Analysis and can be addressed either in a class discussion or as an individual response. Encourage students to think about not only the term “global warming” but also its transformation into the term “climate change.” Students may provide a variety of answers to the question, including some that do not acknowledge climate change / global warming. In this situation, encourage students to continue their dialogue in a healthy and respectful manner.
Post-Reading Analysis
